Book 7: Small Great Things by Jodi Piccoult ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars). This book was okay. It felt like an oversimplification of institutionalized racism AND at the same time when I think about the audience of Picoult’s books, perhaps this explains it in a way that is accessible (Institutionalized Racism for Beginners maybe?). The storyline kept me engaged, but I went back and forth on how this book fits into the larger conversation about race, and white supremacy specifically, going on right now. Has anyone else read this? Thoughts?
Also, bonus question: Which one of my high school friends called Jodi Picoult the “boy band of authors”? Drop a guess in the comments 👇🏼 (Also, they’re not wrong)
